Basic Information

  • Type: Advanced course involving 25 hours of training (total of 4 days)

  • Target group: Members of Award management teams on any level (at least two representatives per attending organisation should take part); Auditors

  • Aim: Based on EFQM and an Award Unit Case Study , first steps of establishing a continuous improvement process in the Award work and of creating an EFQM-based Quality Workbook .

  • Topics

    • As a preparatory homework,

      • The provided literature on the EFQM Excellence Model and the Award Unit Case Study are studied carefully;

      • With the provided worksheets, an assessment of the Award work of the Unit covered in the case study is performed and brought along to the course.

    • During the course, by collecting the homework outcomes and additional practical exercises for each EFQM criterion,

      • A profound understanding of the EFQM Excellence Model is provided;

      • The first draft of a Quality Workbook is completed and the cornerstones of a development plan are sketched for the own organisation.

  • Requirements :

    • Programme Course (Management Course recommended);

    • Experience as a member of the Award management team.

  • Day 1

    • 18.00 – 19.00: Dinner

    • 19.00 – 19.45: Introduction

    • 19.45 – 20.30: EFQM Basics, part 1: Fundamental Concepts, Criteria Model, RADAR

  • Day 2

    • 08.30 – 10.00: EFQM Basics, part 2: Documentation (Portfolio) and Quality Workbook

    • 10.00 - 13.00: Mission and vision of the Award work (walking talk)

    • 13.00 - 14.00: Lunch

    • 14.00 – 18.00: Criteria: Collecting home work outcomes, performing exercises relevant for the own Award work, working on self-assessment & quality workbook

    • 19.00 – 20.30: Dinner

  • Day 3

    • 08.30 – 12.30: Criteria: Collecting home work outcomes, performing exercises relevant for the own Award work, working on self-assessment & quality workbook

    • 12.45 - 13.45: Lunch

    • 14.00 - 18.30: Criteria: Collecting home work outcomes, performing exercises relevant for the own Award work, working on self-assessment & quality workbook

    • 19.00 – 20.30: Dinner

  • Day 4

    • 08.30 – 12.30: Criteria: Collecting home work outcomes, performing exercises relevant for the own Award work, working on self-assessment & quality workbook

    • 12.45 - 13.45: Lunch
