Award Groups are all individual in their set up however all have a common link in that they all need a Group Leader. Group Leaders are usually volunteers who believe in the Award Programme and the benefits that it can offer to young people.

In order to obtain a licence, which is subject to review, Operating Authorities have to satisfy the Award that they understand the full implications of running the Award Programme. They have to be in a position to safeguard its aims and standards, to establish the necessary administrative framework to enable it to function and to ensure its continuity.
