  • Content

    • The Management Course is about the systematic development and improvement of the Award work of Award Units and Operating Authorties. The EFQM Excellence Model, which is used in Germany for this purpose since 2009, serves also as a "compass" of the Management Course and is imparted through "learning by doing".

    • The learning process includes the following steps:

      • As a preparatory homework, each represented unit performs a self-assessment using the Toolbox form e94 ("naked eye"), resulting in a list of possible actions.

      • Through exercises on everyday challenges in all nine EFQM fields during the main part of the course, this preliminary analysis is step-by-step deepened, expanded and questioned.

      • This systematic reflexion finally serves as a basis of (a daft of) an updated Development Plan, to be discussed further in the unit's course follow-up.

    • The Management Course is a course OF, not FOR the participants. Award work development is learned and trained from realistic problems, roles and situations. Among others, “real” programmes are designed, presentations made, articles drafted, budgets planned, letters written, negotiations carried and events scheduled. Starting point and destination of any strategy are mission & vision, and so the course starts with a "Walking Talk" on this subject.

    • Experience teaches that the learning progress is the more effective and participation the more valuable, the bigger the number of represented team members: through broader and deeper discussions the draft development plan gets more substance and a bigger moment back home. Due to this direct connection to the own Award work, the Portfolio and other illustrative documents are required – and also a computer (laptop or tablet).

    • 12.00 – 13.00: Action fields, part 1

    • 13.00 – 14.00: Lunch

    • 14.00 – 17.00: Action fields, part 2

    • 17.00 – 17.30: On-site Visit

    • 18.00 – 19.30: Dinner

  • Day 3

    • 08.30 – 10.00: Development Plan I: Determining priorities

    • 10.00 – 11.30: Development Plan II: Fine-planning according to the SMART criteria

    • 11.30 – 12.00: Roundup
